Bride Feature: Hannah

Our brides during Covid have been through a lot– reschedules, delays, unexpected plan changes, reduced guest lists, and so much more. Hannah handled all of this with grace, and we’re so happy for her! Check out her experience.

“As a planner this was probably the craziest thing I’ve ever had to do. But it turned out so perfect!” Hannah Rahn never could have anticipated Covid when she started planning her wedding, but our recent interview with this beautiful bride has shown us that anything is possible when you make the best of a bad situation.

After Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued executive orders limiting the number of people allowed at any social gathering (more strict for indoor than outdoor), Rahn (then Batschke) had to rethink her plans for her wedding reception. “Once we found out our hall couldn’t accommodate our family and friends because of the governors qualifications the hall had to follow,  we decided to move our reception to next year, and kept our original plans with them. So we decided to move our wedding to our back yard with just immediate family and our bridal party. It turned out perfect!”, said Rahn. “The weather was beautiful and everyone had a wonderful time! I wish we could relive it over again, which is kind of amazing we get to celebrate all over again next year!”

“I always knew I wanted to stay local to find a dress. I just heard wonderful things about Unique Bridal”, said Rahn, “I loved the small town feel that they gave you when you walked through the door, they recognized me every time and it felt so nice!”
When Rahn decided to split her dream wedding and reception into two separate events, she not only found a unique way to work around the pandemic, but created another silver lining in the process: “When I went in [to Unique Bridal] the first time, I had absolutely no clue what gown or style I wanted, and they helped me find my perfect dress! Angie is a wonderful woman. She helped me not only find one dress but two!”, said Rahn. Splitting her wedding and reception into two separate events on two separate days meant that Rahn had an opportunity to wear two wedding dresses, one for each event!

“Both gowns are completely different! My first original gown has a more traditional vibe to it: long train, form fitting, gorgeous veil! And my second dress is completely different, it is very beaded and it has more of a flow to the bottom! Both gorgeous!”, said Rahn.

“In a crazy way we’re happy that it worked out this way. We’re so blessed to be able to still have kept our wedding date this year. Now we’re looking forward to celebrating next year with all our friends and extended family!”, said Rahn, “This year I let Andrew (my husband) change after dinner into something more comfortable, and I partied in my dress all night long! Next year he doesn’t get that lucky 🤣”. We at Unique Bridal were so happy to be part of Hannah’s beautiful wedding, and the beautiful reception to come. Gorgeous brides like Hannah Rahn can inspire brides-to-be all over the country to look for positives in the unexpected, and whether you need one dress or two, Unique Bridal will be happy to help you find the perfect dress for your perfect day.

“Our flowers are from Unique Floral in Bay City

All Event Tents helped us with an tent which was perfect for our accommodations. I did my own makeup and a friend did my hair.”, said Rahn.

Congratulations Hannah and Andrew!
